Rooms Size and Lighting
In a light room with no light dimming options, a more powerful projector is needed for ensuring high-quality projections.
Screen Size
The bigger the screen, the more powerful projector is needed. We also recommend choosing the correct wide-angle optics, especially if the screen is big but the distance to it is short.
Projection Type
A choice between front or back projection has to be made. For a back projection, specially designed screens are necessary. The advantages of back projection is that it eliminates the need for special installation equipment for the projector, it doesn’t take up space in front of the screen, and it doesn’t disturb the audience. A more powerful projector is needed for back projection. Also, you should allow a certain space behind the screen for the mounting of the projector, where its distance from the screen is determined by the optics used. KT Serviss also offers such wide-angle optics that can provide back projection, where the projector distance from the screen equals 0.8 times the length of the horizontal edge of the screen. For example, if the screen width is 6 metres and back projection is used, the projector will have to be placed 4.8 metres from the screen (0.8 x 6 = 4.8).
Correct Projector Placement
Powerful projectors have interchangeable optics, meaning that they can both be located at the back of the screen and provide a bright picture on the stage screen if it is located in a hall, balcony, or the room of projection. Modern projector image geometry (keystone) correction technologies allow projectors to be positioned where they are least distracting to viewers, as they don’t have to be directly opposite the centre of the screen. However, projecting an image from a wide angle may result in poorer image quality. We will gladly advise you on the best option for you, taking into account all the conditions.
